Campaign FAQs
Why was the Pinelands Action Campaign Created?
The Pinelands Action Campaign was created to provide another tool for Pinelands protection and preservation by engaging in more lobbying and finding, promoting, and supporting elected leaders that will fight for the Pinelands. The Pinelands is always at risk from inappropriate development projects, rule changes that will allow more development in ecologically important places, illegal forms of recreation on protected lands, and pollutants that threaten the unique acidic waters and nutrient poor soils. The Pinelands lack elected and appointed champions who will ensure the Pinelands protections are not dismantled over time. The Pinelands Action Campaign will support elected and appointed officials committed to protecting the Pinelands for future generations.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Donations to the Pinelands Action Campaign, a 501(c)(4) organization, are not tax-deductible, because we have the ability to engage in unlimited lobbying and directly affect the political process.
How are Pinelands Action Campaign resources being used?
Your contributions are being used in a variety of ways. Pinelands Action Campaign is using its financial resources to draw attention to and support political candidates and elected officials who have demonstrated their support of Pinelands and environmental protection issues. Our efforts include creation of communications to advocate for the election of specific candidates and to shine a spotlight on issues that impact the health and future of the Pinelands.
Is the campaign connected to Pinelands Preservation Alliance?
Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA) has limited ability to engage in the political arena. PPA’s hands are virtually tied, but with the creation and support of our lobbying affiliate, Pinelands Action Campaign, we can change the voices in the Pinelands, in Trenton, and in Washington DC.
